Life is Good_Liberty Aug. 2008

The other half of the cat equation, this is Liberty. We adopted her from PetSmart on the 4th of July holiday, thus her name. She had been at the store for 4+ weeks, which we knew because we often stopped by to see the kitties, while we were awaiting word on our lost kitty, Greeley. We were not in the market to adopt an animal because we really hoped Greeley would be found. I guess something made us accept the realization that Greeley would sadly, probably not be coming found, as we live in a wild open area with a lot of hunting wildlife. This large soft white cat sidled up to us from her cage and uttered a friendly meow, so we decided to take her out to pet her---and that was all there was to be said. She endeared herself to us right then and we ended up taking her home. We had never had a female kitty before, nor a white one, and I so loved the tuxedo-colored cats like most of the cats we'd had before, but how could we resist this incredibly soft, white cat who was so friendly to strangers? When the store person was bringing her out for us to take home, she told us that she and the other store people were sorry to see this cat leave because she was such a lovely kitty---the favorite of the store! We knew then that we were getting a real gem of a pet and that's exactly what she has become for us. Even the grandkids love her and she always comes out to greet them and be around them when they spend the night at our house. WELCOME LIBERTY ! (named for Lady Liberty because we got her on Independence Day weekend.)
